Georgia – visit the peach state and sample some delicious fruits, straight from the tree. Try visiting in June for the best fruit time, and see the world's largest peach cobbler.
Vermont – if you are a fan of cheese and dairy, then look no further than Vermont, where you can taste different cheeses all year round. The famous Vermont cheddar is a winner, but you can try your tongue to feta, goat's cheese, ewes milk cheese and plenty of others. For devout cheese fans, the cheese maker's festival happens in July.
Michigan – cherries are what puts Michigan on the map, and not only is the state beautiful in the May when the blossom is out, but is fragrant in July when the trees fruit, and when the national cherry festival happens. Make sure you book tickets as this is a very popular event.
Mississippi – for shellfish lovers, Mississippi is the place to be. Although the seafood industry has been severely damaged buy the oil spill earlier this year, head down and grab some shrimp, fresh off the boats.
Missouri– if you prefer to drink wine than eat, then Missouri is more up your street. Visit the Hermann wine trail, and visit some of the small, family owned wineries that open for sampling during the summer months.
